About

Let me introduce myself.

Honnesh Muppala — QA & DevOps Engineer

I’m Honnesh Muppala, a passionate QA & DevOps Engineer with over 6 years of hands-on experience in testing, automation, and quality engineering across web, mobile, IoT, and device ecosystems.

Currently, I’m part of the Production Acceptance Test (PAT) team at Viasat Europe Ltd, where I help ensure that inflight connectivity and entertainment systems deliver seamless and reliable experiences for passengers worldwide. My role bridges engineering and testing — building and executing functional, performance, and failure-mode tests, and troubleshooting complex system behaviors across simulated airline environments.

I specialize in IoT and connectivity testing, mobile and web automation, and cloud-based validation. My expertise spans networking, CI/CD pipelines, system validation, and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, and AWS CloudWatch. I’m also proficient in Android Studio, ADB Shell scripting, and end-to-end mobile device testing for Android and Fire OS platforms.

Beyond the tech, I’m an avid photographer who loves capturing moments that tell a story. When I’m not testing systems or perfecting a shot, you’ll likely find me on a badminton court or cricket field, staying active and competitive.

I’m driven by the intersection of technology, creativity, and precision — whether it’s building resilient test systems, validating IoT devices, or framing the perfect photograph.

Achievements & Awards

Milestones and Moments I’m Proud Of

A few highlights of my journey — moments of growth, teamwork, and recognition that shaped me both professionally and personally.

Leadership Award – ATU

Recognized for outstanding leadership and community contribution as President of the Indian Student Society at Atlantic Technological University.

Leadership Award 1

Coming out of my comfort zone and leading the Indian Society as President was a truly enriching experience. I’m grateful to everyone who trusted me and voted for me. Representing our community here in Ireland — a home away from home — I had the opportunity to organize cultural events, festivals, and trips, and to participate in all society activities. This experience allowed me to connect with other communities as well, creating lasting relationships and memories. I truly enjoyed being involved and contributing to the society’s growth. It taught me that leadership is not just about guiding others, but about listening, learning, and creating spaces where everyone feels valued. Every small initiative, every shared smile, reminded me that even tiny gestures can leave a meaningful impact on a community.

Virtusa Final Day (Team Farewell)

Memorable final day with the Virtusa team celebrating achievements and camaraderie. I started my journey at Virtusa as an Associate Consultant and had the incredible opportunity to grow into a leadership role, mentoring and guiding team members. Conducting trainings, providing guidance, and taking interviews allowed me to understand and support each individual’s potential. I truly miss being surrounded by so many young, talented potentials, helping them develop their skills and watching them thrive. I’m deeply grateful to my manager for trusting me with these responsibilities and encouraging me to embrace challenges that shaped my professional journey.

As Indian Society President, I had the honor of organizing and leading several memorable events that brought our community closer together. From cultural festivals to group trips, every moment was a reflection of teamwork, culture, and unity.

✨ Diwali Celebration – Festival of Lights

Leading the Diwali event at ATU was one of my proudest moments — uniting students, faculty, and the local community to celebrate India’s vibrant culture. From planning performances to coordinating decorations and food, it was a true display of teamwork and joy.

Beyond Tech & Leadership

Outside of my professional and leadership journey, I’m equally passionate about sports and photography — both keep me energized, focused, and creative. Whether on the field or behind the lens, these pursuits inspire me and bring balance to my life.

🏏 Sports & Fitness

I’ve always enjoyed spending time on the field, especially playing cricket and badminton. Sports have taught me teamwork, patience, and the importance of continuous improvement — values that strongly influence how I approach challenges in life and work.

Cricket Match

Focused on every moment — cricket has always been my go-to for balance and energy.

Cricket Practice

Weekend practice — where passion meets perseverance.

📸 Capturing the Northern Lights

Photography is something I truly enjoy — it allows me to see the world through a creative lens. Experiencing and capturing the Northern Lights in Ireland was one of the most unforgettable moments of my life, combining my love for nature, travel, and storytelling.

Projects

Selected projects beyond my day-to-day role — tools I built, platforms I tested, and knowledge I shipped.

SSH Modem Health Checker

Satellite modems at 35,000ft need fast, reliable diagnostics. I built a parallel Python tool that runs 76+ checks across servers and modems — covering certs, disk, K8s, RabbitMQ, and network interfaces — cutting runtime from ~4 minutes to 31 seconds using ThreadPoolExecutor. Outputs a self-contained HTML report with a unit identity card (customer, aircraft type, SW version).

Kobiton Mobile Test Suite

Cross-platform mobile coverage for Android and iOS builds was a manual bottleneck. I designed and executed a mobile automation suite using Kobiton cloud devices with Appium, enabling real-device testing across OS versions and screen sizes without maintaining physical device labs. Integrated into the CI pipeline for pre-release validation.

The QA Chronicles

Most QA knowledge is scattered across forums and outdated blogs. I built a 45-article knowledge base from scratch — custom HTML/CSS, Firebase-hosted, AdSense-ready at 100/100 — covering manual testing, automation, API, performance, security, and DevOps. Fully SEO-optimised with JSON-LD schema, canonical URLs, and GA4 tracking on every page.
